What the system did, on whose authority, using which data. One place, so answering a regulator is retrieval rather than reconstruction.

Agent fleet

Every run emits a provenance envelope, including on failure
AgentCapabilityTier RunsStateCan it act?
ComputedDeterministic plane

SQL, the calculation engine and the Metric registry. Produces every figure in the product. It is reproducible: the same inputs and the same as-of date give the same answer, forever.

GeneratedProbabilistic plane

Language models, ranking and retrieval. Produces sentences. It calls the deterministic plane for figures and narrates around them.

The rule: a generated sentence containing a numeral that is not in its provenance envelope is a blocking defect, caught in CI — not a style issue.

The dependency runs one way: probabilistic → deterministic, never the reverse. No model computes, rounds or restates a regulated figure. That is why the two marks exist and why their colours are fixed and not brandable.
